Charity organisation helps the homeless

Roskilde Festival has started a charity fundraising for Projekt Udenfor(project outside) who help homeless people in Denmark. In this film wetalk to a street team member about Projekt Udenfor's cause.

You can donate money to the organisation in week 12 and 13 (2011).

Bar yields profit at Roskilde 2010 to protect reservation

Drinks for Trees is the name of an association who had a drinks bar at Roskilde Festival 2010. The bar had a profit of DKK 100,000 (approx. EUR 13,422) which is donated in full to Associação Amazônia who protects the Xixuaú-Xiparina reservation at the heart of the Amazonas jungle.

African Youth Panel & Roskilde Festival

Africa has the youngest population in the World. This is a big challenge but it is also an enormous potential. The African Youth Panel was created in 2008 to integrate the youth in shaping the future of Africa. The African Youth Panel consists of 55 people between the ages of 15 and 30.

From 2011 the African Youth Panel is without funding. This is the reason why The Roskilde Festival Charity Society has chosen to donate EUR 200.000 to the panel. The money will help the African Youth Panel continue their network activities they have begun as well as creating new projects.

Music and Soup Against Poverty

On 15 December 2010, Roskilde Festival donated DKK 1,640,000 (approx. 215,000) to seven different organizations which al support homeless and poor families in Denmark.

The donations were celebrated at a street event in the center of Copenhagen where the visitors and people passing by could enjoy free soup and live music.

In 2010, in collaboration with Tuborg, we built a temporary pool right in thecentre of the festival site. If you wanted to dive in, you'd have togenerate electricity to the pool first. Here are numerous (go ahead,try to count them) shots put together to show how we started withnothing and ended with a joyous party.

Did you know that every single cigarette stub is cleaned off the festival area after the festival?

The organisation Hold Danmark Rent (keep Denmark tidy) handed out 35,000 pocket ashtrays at Roskilde Festival 2010. 1950s-inspired 'cigarette girls' taught the festival-goers that it is costly and uncool to drop cigarette stubs on the ground.

Americas green ambassadeurs: Titus Andronicus

Roskilde Festival part of Stockholms Culture Festival

In august 2010, Roskilde Festival set up a stage at Stockholm Kulturfestival.

Here a good 20 Danish acts played, e.g. Oh No Ono, RebekkaMaria, I Got You On Tape, Figurines and When Saints Go Machine.

Roskilde Festival did this project to attract Swedish music lovers' attention to the thriving Danish music scene.

A festival million to Pakistan

On 9 September 2010, Roskilde Festival donated DKK 1,000,000 (approx. 134,000) to Danish Red Cross' relief work in Pakistan.

The money is an indirect donation from the festival's big audience. Thanks to you all.

Each year, Roskilde Festival donates the profits in full to humanitarian and cultural projects.
